Lightroom 4, how to open a tif file into lightroom 4?

Recommended Posts

It sounds like you need a Lightroom tutorial. You don't "open" files in Lightroom, As Alan said, you "import" them. This is a really important concept. I highly recommend buying Victoria Bampton's Lightroom book, it's the best I've found.

There are some TIFF formats that Lightroom cannot read. It needs to be an RGB file, for example. If you have a monochrome scan, LR can't handle that; you need to convert it to RGB first.

Rubbish ...I import thousands of single channel B&W TIFF files into Lightroom and have done so at least since version 2 without any issues
