1. There doesn't appear to be an option (or at least easily visible) for viewing unified threads from multiple forums. Can someone advise whether this is still an option?

 6.
Thanks Alex, I was in Tokyo last week. Finally found my eldest daughter again after 5 years. On the spur of the moment, my other 2 ended up with kimono's. All 3 below...

 12.
The problem is to stop thinking about what the process is, or should be, but rather think about what result you want. Once you know what result you want, then, and only then, should you think about what process will deliver that result. In general, if your objective is work flow then you will forever chase whatever is fashionable; if your objective is the result, you will define the work flow.

 18.
Hi Eric, yep its always a give and take. Unfortunately, between Seagate and WD I've a a few more than you go bad on me. I certainly agree on the "pull it out and replace it with no issues", thats what it's built for. I've just become concerned that the risks actually lie in hardware failure in conjunction with continued support of that RAID5/6 volume structure in newer models.
I think you and I have been shooting long enough that we probably have far to many images to want to lose due to any kind of total storage failure and I was merely pointing out where I'm seeing weak links in these NAS.

 19.

Synology or Qnap, running raid 5

Certainly agree on the brands, although I do favour QNAP. However, for SOHO RAID appliances I really don't like anything outside of RAID1. Whether there is an issue depends on where a failure might occur. I've run a QNAP NAS that is now almost 9 years old now; around 2 years ago I had a power supply fail. This was external but QNAP no longer supported this model, fortunately I was able to find a suitable replacement else where.
The real problem occurs if you get a board or internal failure when the model is out of support. The bridge boards that support RAID 5 or 6 are all proprietary, and I have seen with a number of these manufacturers that often make changes that do not support the RAID 5 or 6 volume from earlier models, which means you have no way of reading it if you get one of these failures. For the price of drives these days, I would not be taking this risk...

 20.
I've performed wet cleaning on my A7II to remove some rather stubborn grease-like spots - took a number of swabs and wipes. Yes, the sensor moves while you're wiping but there does not appear to be any negative aspect to doing this.

 21.
1:4 is primarily for film development; 1:9 is for print development...

 22.
You can certainly improve on this but its never going to be perfect. A quick example attached but I needed Photoshop to do this. Duplicated layer with blend mode set to "multiply" then work out how much of the left side to erase from the duplicated layer; then replicate the layer until the required density is achieved (about 3 layers here); then work to blend the edge further before flattening then image.

 23.
I can't advise you on film on the Malaysia side. However, if your intent is to head to JB you could be better served going to Singapore, picking up your film there and just getting a taxi to the border crossing at the Woodlands check point, walk across the Causeway and you're in JB. I've had B&W rolls outsourced in Singapore before for development and my experience has been very hit and miss; I would assume KL would be no better but your sources may be better.

 24.

Craig, I feel Blow Up.

Knut, absolutely... I started working on a project of cropping "lost" face out of the backgrounds of my images, processing and blowing them up! My Flickr is currently full of a lot of these. They all initially represent 100~300 pixel square crops. As a collection I'm beginning to like them personally...
