natureslight
This topic is one I constantly talk about with friends and co-workers. Personally, I look through some of the galleries on this site and feel almost embarrassed to post my own images. Then I head to another site or another gallery or another coffee shop, or wherever and my work seems good in comparison with what I see. I think it's a matter of perspective and also overall philosophy. How good is my photography? Nowhere near where I want it to be, but much improved from the past. Am I satisfied? Never completely, but then again, I never feel more complete, happier or more at peace then when I'm out in the field (or woods, mountains, ocean, etc.) camera at ready, exploring and seeking the beauty of some elusive subject. The fact that sometimes my best efforts only deliver mediocre results can be frustrating, but I still love trying.
