So far, many great photos this week and here is my take on some:

Nate and Lupo photos made me hungry!

Massimo and S.Grant- It sure looks cold out there

Vincent - Very clean and crisp, at the same time soft skin tone image; processed well all the way to the web!

Martin - Those horns with advancing colors bracketed the man well

Mark - Very legitimate question!

Mine is from two weekends ago; two female bald eagles chasing/fighting for territory!
Cheers,
Hadi

Mark - about the 24 hour race at Daytona & the fans - the Speedway will seat over 200,000 people, but that capacity only gets hit a couple of times a year for the NASCAR weekends. Other events, like the sports-car oriented 24 hour weekend get a lot less. There were 75,000 tickets sold this year - not "assigned seating" - you can wander around the 2.5 mile track and take in different spots. The race started at 3:30 in the afternoon - by evening the stands are mostly empty and people are lined up at the fences, in the garages (great access) etc.

A pair of house finches stopping by for breakfast last Friday morning. WB may be a bit off since I tweaked this shot at work (my monitor there is not calibrated).

You guys always put up great shots and really show me how far I have to go; but I'm getting there. S-l-o-w-l-y.
My boss's ef 400 f2.8 II, non IS, came in this week, and within a few minutes I was tasked with checking it out. So I wandered out back of the shop and one of the feral kittens was hunting. In keeping with the bird theme, you know what she was after, although it's not in the scene so she'd be happy to have a go at yours.
Have a GREAT week shooting and I hope to get out to Pea Island NWR this weekend.

Massimo - beautiful image. David, impressive shot. Scott, way to capture the beauty in the every day. The architect would love you for noticing. Lupo, yum! Phill, I noticed that too... they honk a lot to let you know to get your camera ready. Philip, nice pan! Peter, striking! Karen, pretty shot. Rick - I love the crystals of the snow flakes. Dean, fun shot. Thom - wow! All others are great too, just picking a few to comment :)

Another week witha lot of strong pictures. These Thursday posts make me at least try to take an interesting picture every week, even when time and weather don't want to cooperate.

This was taken at the Los Angeles Fitness Expo. This was the Bikini Competition. 7D, ISO 1600, 1/160 f/5.6 Olympus 75-150 f/4 manual zoom lens. I made a choice to use the stage lights and no flash. The results were pretty good. A little difficult to focus manually with the standard focusing screen. A friend of mine was competing so I learned a lot about the whole process of fitness and bodybuilding. The spray on tans can make for some crazy skin tones from Oompah Loompah yellow to Chile pepper red.

00ZzF3-440541584.jpg.e9d404d5141dca781c57320d558a23a3.jpg
