Nathan - brilliant blues on that duck.
Martin - love it!
Rob - subtle, nice :)
David - well done! Great colors and composition.
I arrived at a meeting 20 minutes early, so I decided to play around with my client's bulldog for a bit.
Canon 5D Mark II. 16-35 lens. 1/6400, F/5.6, ISO 1000 @ 35 mm. The shutter speed didn't need to be that fast, but this little guy never sits still.

Nathan,
It's photoshop. I copied a layer, used a radial zoom effect and then a layer mask to bring back much, but not all of the picture. Then lowered the opacity of the entire top image. I hope that all makes sense. It is a technique I have used on several photos, which, I think, if done right gives an interesting perspective.
Thanks

Another great week of photos. They are all great, and I wanted to comment on a few:
Nathan - I love the colors on that duck. Your patience was rewarded nicely!
Robin's church fence, The balance of the composition makes a simple shot work so well.
Wade - Ring around the moon - great colors, and the wide angle adds just the right amount of surrealism to the scene.
Dennis' LSU shot - unique perspective and great colors make this a fun shot.
Martin's Icelandic lake. I'm a sucker for sunrise/sunsets with clouds, sky and water, so I love that shot. Although, in Iceland in November, that's probably high noon!
David's snowy grand canyon shot - the contrast between the foreground and background makes that look like a studio set up - very cool. Were you and Jeff there together?
Here's my contribution for the week - looking south from Nepenthe Restaurant in Big Sur, CA, from last Friday.

00ZaOW-414409584.jpg.c24d33cb553d98193ea1452fb959010b.jpg

Just a simple fisherman photo last week in high contrast B&W. Jeff B -- LOVE your snowy train photo. So excellent.
Also I love DC's LSU shot. Way to go! Far out DC.

(that should say f/7.1 below and shot in Av mode)

00ZaOa-414411584.jpg.954e45fb373e2a9d11d49502bd0bc5d5.jpg

Shot On Goal
A highly imperfect sequence collage of my son's shot on goal at his most recent soccer match. The goalkeep managed to save it, but my son scored a few minutes later with a less artful kick. This was the shot he wanted to talk about afterwards.
