It's close enough to the truth for a lot of MWC and DWC that it really isn't that funny.

Kind of like Belushi doing Joe Cocker on SNL in the 70's - it was so dead on that it was like okay - you can do a good Joe Cocker.

And yes, there are people that really believe everything that she is saying and that really act like her - I've ran into them many times.

So...she is naive and rather talks silly imo. BUT she probably appeal to many, many more, say, soccer moms than I ever will. If she does shoot decently, she'll be a okay. Pro Photography is all about marketing to one's market...and she seems to appeal to her target audiences rather well.

Now...it would be pretty freaking hilarious if one would imagine her doing NGO shoots, say, in Cambodia. But appealing to white suburban well to do soccer moms, and doing family portraitures...She probably does A-OK.

I suppose ignorance is bliss, but Leslie does have a point. There are a number of ladies I know who actually make fairly successful photographs of people yet have no real technical knowledge as a foundation. While guys obsess over gear, women seem to understand naturally the importance of people touching and capturing naturalness. Modern cameras have allowed greater separation of the technical and the intuitive side of picture making which gave access to women who, formerly, were put off by technical issues. Give her a couple of classes, books and a workshop or two, and I'd bet her development would sky rocket past many guys muttering about the "IQ" of their lenses.

that's not my point, Jeff. i was merely pointing out that it sounds as though some who have responded don't understand that this is satire. but thanks for your insightful and helpful input...though it had nothing to do with the question i had in mind, i know that in reading you wise words... i feel like i've grown as a person.
