<p>Happy Thursday everyone! Only 47 posts last week. Lots of great photos, but I know we can do better. It's finals week for me, so I'll be in a hole for the next several days and there's a good chance I won't have a new photo for next week's thread. This week I shot a photo of some family setting off a couple Chinese lanterns at Thanksgiving. Let's see some more shots! </p><div></div>

<p>We decided to spend some quiet time away from everything, and ended up in Arizona over the Thanksgiving weekend. Wonderful time, and lots of desert photos. I loved the light on the teddy bear chollas, and made several attempts to get a backlit shot - this is the one I like the most.</p>

<p>Hiking last Saturday on a trail above the Golden Gate Bridge & above Sausalito. This is near the "Wind Funnel-Tunnel" area (above the Waldo Grade and its namesake Hwy 101 tunnel through the hill).</p>

<p>I was testing some new gear and needed a suitable subject close by. Grabbed this little Disney figurine set from the shelf and experimented with a mix of ambient and backlight. Although it was only an experiment, my wife liked the photo so I'll post it here for today's Canon Thursday photo.</p><div></div>

<p>These are a pair of nesting eagles. Their nest is about 100 feet from the roadway. Lots of people taking photos early in the morning. Unfortunately, it was an overcast day. However, we were fortunate to have the both of them screeching on a tree limb for several minutes.</p><div></div>
