bms
Happy Nikon Day!

My best wished go out to all of you who were hit by Irene.... realizing you may not be able to post if you don't have power yet! Up here in mid-Maine things were thankfully relatively benign.

Along those lines, Matt L , Tom S and Martin Z's are my favorites so far!

A day before the storm I was shooting the wedding of Chelsea and Phil - sort of a follow up of the engagement shoot posted here a few weeks ago.

User_2019667
Good morning to all. Some great photos this morning already. Thank goodness we were unscathed in NE Ohio during the storm that Irene caused. We went to the local farmers market last Saturday and I found this little Amish girl all ready to sell her beets as her father stood back and watched his little sales girl.

vrankin
Last week we visited our family in Wisconsin and shared some childcare time with our nine month old granddaughter. This was a happy moment on the swing at a nearby park.

thadley
Mine was taken yesterday afternoon in Candiac Quebec on the banks of the St.Lawrence river. With the camera on a tripod, I focused on different spots of the flower taking 3 images. I then combined them (Focus Stacking) with Photoshop.

dave_wilson1
"Goodnight Irene!" We got through so-so, things we could handle ourselves, nothing major or devastating in our family, but there were some very serious issues locally where people faired MUCH worse. In any case, my Wednesday Pic is some cloud patterns of the absolute back end of Irene as the last of it was swirling around and making interesting cloud patterns over my neighborhood. Within about 15 minutes of these shots, it was completely gone except for the 35-45 mph winds. If you were in on it, I hope you and your family stayed safe. ShunCheung
In the Galapagos Islands, marine iguanas are very common. Iguanas are, of course, cold blooded and like to stick together. Here we have a little one of the back of a large one.

Nikon D7000 with 200-400mm/f4 AF-S VR @ 400mm, ISO 800, 1/250 sec on a heavy tripod. I stopped down to f8 to gain some depth of field since I have two animals (subjects) in the image. However, depth of field is still quite shallow here.
