Good Wednesday morning to all. Some great shots this morning as usual. Finally a little relief from the oppressive heat here in Ohio this morning. I was walking at one of our many county parks in Ashland county, Ohio yesterday and liked the way the morning sun was striking these yellow flowers in the butterfly garden.

00Z6G9-383741584.jpg.cab85649da4eed2f946444be885c35f5.jpg

Good Morning Wednesday :)

My submission is from couple of weeks back when I was at UMASS amherst. Late evening clouds were beautiful and due to soft sunlight building was perfectly lit with few shadows. This is an HDR converted to Black and White.

Greetings from the depths of northern Ontario.
It was a lovely morning on Sunday so we took Harry to the New Liskeard board walk so he'd have a chance to socialize. As you can see, things were rally busy at 11:00AM. He did get to meet some kids who were swimming and to see what a sandy beach was. I got to take his photo of 2 bums on a board walk.

00Z6Gt-383759584.jpg.e6b4cf5620e468dc2de623f0ab4b0747.jpg

I've been chasing every bug in my yard for 3 days since I got my new lens. I didn't know ants had hairy backs. This ant was 1/8" long. Thanks Jeannean and Roberta for this obsession.
Nikon D3, Sigma 150 2.8 macro, 150mm,1/250 SS, F/8, ISO 800

00Z6H1-383767584.jpg.f9a12f012c4e14cdbef8a232950ccd1b.jpg

Whales rule on Nantucket. The high school teams are the "Whalers." The shops offer shirts, ties, and so on displaying iconic spouting whale shapes. This is a newly trimmed hedge in someone's front yard.

Flowers... are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1844
Early this morning I was on my way to perform my daily chores when this wild Oxeye Daisy captured my attention, complete with dew and hover fly.

00Z6Ha-383781584.jpg.ef91a6776dfd9ad41eaf5d5b2097810c.jpg

This week found me trying something completely different and new. I was out trying to find some bugs in one of my hunting grounds called the spillway. I noticed these guys training their dogs to retrieve birds. I asked them if I could try and get a few shots. They were very gracious and allowed me to follow them around through the mud and muck.
This is the first time I have ever tried anything like this. All I can say is WOW, I had a blast. Dogs, water, reflections, what more could a girl ask for !!
It is amazing to watch these dogs work. I hope I can get the opportunity to do this again.
Matt, you are so fortunate to be able to work with the dogs !!!

Happy Wednesday! Great work again, everyone. Eye catchers are Matt, Erik, Shun... my favorite Roberta!
Here, admittedly not my best work - testing out the underwater housing (finally pulled the trigger, to complement my other hobby), just a few feet offshore, snorkeling. At least it did not flood.

00Z6Ie-383819584.jpg.919dfb780be3513f86e8089e0f74d5ce.jpg

I have finally figured out how to get a macro shot without my flash, I use the "reverse macro" style or in other words "poor man's macro" lol. so I am pretty proud of this shot.
