adam_weaver
Well this thread has compelled me out the front door on a Wednesday morning to see what I can find. It was a busy week selling our house and taking pictures was low on my priority list. It is move-out day here at UPenn, and in this trash you'll find the darndest things. I'm not overly proud of the photo, but it sure made me say 'huh?' The Hello Kitty head is about 18 inches across. I wonder where it lived...

bikealps
Summer has started with racing on the velodrome Friday nights. This photo is Elizabeth Newell (Bell Lap Racing) who broke away solo from the women's field, finished solo, and taught them all a lesson about how to race track. Watching track racing is a joy especially when someone puts on a show like this!

Photo is a pan shot w/o a monopod. 1/40s is a good balance between motion blur of the wheels and legs while keeping the body stable. 1/60s is also good but I like more wheel and leg blur. The athletes are going anywhere from 25 to 41 mph depending on what is happening in the race.

Tom -- great shot of the snow monkey!

lisae
I was driving through the neighborhood last week when I spotted the light shining through a line of water and gatorade bottles on the dugout bench. A picture of the girls, framed by the bottles, popped into my head. So I turned the car around and asked the parents if they would mind if I took a picture. As I was taking the picture, I heard one of the moms say to another one, "She doesn't look dangerous, does she?" Glad to know I don't!

As usual, I look forward to viewing all the Wednesday pics tonight!
