Leonard-just-Leonard
last summer there was a 5 minute presentation during an hour long TV show about my photo exhibit. What free video editing software is out there for me to just clip out and save that portion instead of keeping the entire show and fast forwarding to the good part.

I am thinking of something really basic such as GIMP vs. Photoshop. I don't want to do anything except save that 5 minute portion... no editiing, zooming etc. etc.

thanks for your input.

Leonard.

Leonard-just-Leonard
thanks Mukul, it does load my file since it's and mpeg type, but I haven't taken enough time yet to figure out how to just cut out the chunk I want. .

so far I set point a to start and point b to stop but that't it.
mukul_dube
You need to select and delete the portions you do not want: that is, from the start of the file to the beginning of the bit you want, and from the end of that bit to the end of the file. These will be two separate operations. Then save what is left.
