mjferron
I've been messing with Ilfosol 3 as a general developer as of late and have been pleased with the results on plus-x and tri-x. I decided to get brave and try it on Tmax-100. Shot at box speed and developed for 5 at 68 (20c). 10 gentle inversions up front and two every 30 seconds. Very sharp and low grain as expected. The shadows exposed nicely and the highlights were just borderline hot. Not too bad but next time i think next time I'll cut back on the agitation just a bit.

richard_wick
Nice work..I use TMax 100 in Ilfosol 3 as well. I agitate 7 times (a one roll 35mm tank) first, then 3 gentle inversions for the first 1/3 of the development time, every 30 seconds, no agitation for the middle 1/3 and 3 per 30 seconds for the last 1/3. I think that is a bit minimal agitation, but it works for me.
Farkle-Mpls
Just curious ... what are the effects of gentle agitation versus ... aggressive? ... agitation upon the development of the film?
mjferron
Carl I learned my lesson a while back that brisk agitation can cause surge marks (streaks) on 35mm film. Especially with short 5 minute development times.
