My contribution, connected with the crucial question: must a picture allways be sharp.
Made with Nikon D200 and a single plastic lens, focal length about 55 mm, aperture about f/7. The lens can be focused beyond infinity, thi is how this photo was made.
I'd like to read your comments. Thanks for viewing.
Regards, Miha.

Another Wednesday with beautiful pictures from all of you, so far. I've seen a lot of dog pictures. One of the most impressive for me was Matt's dog chasing a bird. So I went near a dog park, took a few pictures and realized that it's not a easy task. Starting with the fact that I didn't close the 2 gates partially block by the snow and the 2 dogs ran away... I was so embarrassed.

00YMJS-338187584.jpg.128fff008e569ec2f51e9333755c18fb.jpg

This is only my second time posting a photo. Thanks to Matt Laur literally walking me through the process and helping this old man navigating through the process. Thanks Matt! Anyway my shot today is one of a male bluebird who showed up at our feeder the other day. I love all the photos that are shared every week.

00YMJV-338189584.jpg.dfdc8ca942f6c895750e9ac9d3804cef.jpg

Happy Wednesday! We have a lot of Kisskadee around here, but they usually don't sit too long if you get close. This one didn't seem to mind as it was concentrating on fishing. It let me get a few shots off before it flew off. (D90/70-300mm VR, 1.4x Sigma teleconverter @ 1/180, f/8, ISO 400)

This is the Detroit River, which technically isn't a river at all but a strait, because it connects Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie. Here at Detroit, it flows from east to west (left to right in the picture) and is about half a mile wide. Windsor, Ontario, our neighbor to the sunny south, is on the other side.

As the weather gets warmer, ice in the northern lakes breaks up and comes floating by.

Coolpix P7000, 45mm full-frame equivalent focal length, ISO 100, 1/40 @ f/4.5.

00YMJs-338191584.jpg.4237d1940cd51d0aa92fe87eb4f0a3df.jpg

Ruin porn from a small town (Centreville MD). This building was supposedly used as part of the underground railway before the civil war. Preserving history is expensive, and nothing is happening. The roof is compromised so I suspect demolition is the fate of this structure.

00YMJx-338193684.jpg.266cd5ce4b9d28bc65b4a0b04f52129c.jpg

This is my daughter and was taken 200ft away behind the center field fence. One of the only fields the fence is short enough to shoot over.
This shot was the start of a "moon rise" following the end of a sunset and was taken on a balmy night with a gentle breeze blowing. Until this moment I never really appreciated how quickly the moon moves through the sky.

Good wednesday!
Many really nice portraits this week so far!
My photo is taken last saturday when I went to Torrey, Aberdeen and we saw this platform on the sea coast.
My friends didn't want to go, so I had to run to the end and my friend took this shot of me and the wave with my camera. My shoes got wet but it was worth it! Enjoy!
