gary payne
For what it's worth, this user finds the new "Bing" pop-ups damned annoying!
SCL
Try signing in again. It seemed that when I logged in this am, for some reason, maybe the year switchover, I wasn't logged in and the pop ups were driving me crazy, plus my color coding choices weren't operational. I logged off, logged back in and signed in, and the pop ups ceased.
paul_de_ley
Yes, being signed in saves you from both the swarming popups and the in-text green highlights that link to even more ads. If this is what unregistered visitors to PN have to contend with these days, then it makes me wonder whether it does not put off more potential members from joining PN than attract business for whoever contracts these kinds of in-your-face ads.
Something does seem to have changed overnight, unlike before I too no longer get signed in automatically when I open my browser anew.
mendel_leisk
I was repeatedly logged-off over the last 24 hours, even though I had not deleted cookies and specify to stay logged in. I've been logged in for months, and this is the first instance of getting logged off. Just for the heck of it I cleared cache(s) and cookies, with CCLeaner. I have it set to retain a few cookies, photo.net included.
bobatkins
I also experienced being logged out. I don't know if it's anything to do with the year change. I'm not sure what expiration is put on photo.net cookies. Seems fine now though.

Update: The current cookies look good until the end of 2019, so maybe they go in decades - which would explain why the old ones expired at the end of 2009. I guess having to log in once every 10 years isn't too much of an imposition!
joshroot
There was an issue with permanent cookies expiring at midnight last night. It has been fixed.
