I love seeing everybody's work. It's inspirational to see such variety. It forces me to learn, too.<br> This is my second post on the boards and first on Wednesday. I'm using a D40 with a Sigma 70-300. Shutter was slow, ISO was high, Aperture was wide. The indoor playground was a terror to shoot, which might be why this image reminded me of an iconic image. This time, I brought my D700 and sat at the 1<sup>st</sup> row taking pictures. It was hard. The stage lightings were hard to predict. Mostly, yellow, pink, red, and orange filters were used. My WB was way out of balance. Oh well, this was my 1<sup>st</sup> time shooting stage performing.</p> <p > <br> The little dancer in the picture is my friend’s 11 year-old daughter. Her dream is to become a professional dancer. I think she did a good move here. However, my picture is a bit out of focus, especially the hands. But I really like the movement and the moment. I did enhance a tad as well as adding some edge blur. I think that it helps the photo.<br> I wish I knew more about Photoshop, I have cs4 extended, as I would have loved to see this without the trailer lurking in the background. sjoerd_leeuwenberg Posted October 21, 2009 Share Posted October 21, 2009 <p>Thanks to Larry, Joseph and Roberta for the kind comments last week.<br />Last two weekends I had the opportunity to photograph TWO marathons.<br />One crossed the street where I live in Eindhoven the Netherlands.<br />The other crossed the street where my parents live in Amsterdam.<br />This picture is from the first. It is of a guy running in the marathon and you can see from his face that he was having a hard time. I like his expression and all the items he was wearing. I was sitting on top of a bridge to get nice expressions on the faces, haha.<br />I used a monopod to support the lens with a homemade lensbracket. I wished I had a grip since most pictures were portrait and after a few hours my arms got really tired.<br />I also made a raincoat for lens and camera, but the rain stopped when I got out of the house. I knew of the eagle sighting on that golf course before so I went there well-prepared with my 70-200 2.8f lens.<br> Shot with D700+70-200mm f2.8 lens; 4.5f, 1/800s, ISO200, 200mm.
