pvg photography
After seeing all of the impressive close-ups week after week, I was inspired to see what I could do, this past weekend. The shot was taken w/ my 25yr old Sigma F3.5-4.5 75mm-210mm Macro. Not a great lens but workable. D80, iso 200. The shot was taken during a late afternoon shower, which made focusing and lighting a bear. Had to use a flash to fill in and get the time down to something reasonable. Oh yeah, final numbers came out to 210mm (about 3ft min focus distance) F16 @ 180/s. Everything done in manual. I'll be back later to comment. Cant' wait to see how this week unfolds!

gwen_klaus
Good morning everyone. It is still dark but hubby and I are planning another trip to the zoo today. We get our exercise and I get pictures. My contribution this Wednesday was from an early August trip to the Detroit Zoo and the large marsh area located there. It is home to swans, ducks, turtles and other amphibians. Nikon D300 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.

ceesmaas
Good morning,
Shot in the Dutch fishing village Yerseke, where I use to buy fresh clams and other seafood. Here's a fishing boat at low tide. The name Ye12 stands for Yerseke 12. The clam (mussels) culture here is very old and traditional.

It was a nice to see this morning.
Lil -- last week's thread closed before I could answer your question. It's the underside of a canopy over door's into Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh PA.
As far as this weeks... I haven't gotten a sports shot that I really like yet but I'm going to show my nephew this one and asked him why he doesn't have that much focus on his school work. :-)
Thanks for posting everyone.

Ian Rance
I would edit my original posting, however I missed the 10 minute window. I noted that my compressed 700 pixel photo this week lost alot of what made the scene appeal to me. If you would like to see a larger (and much clearer) version, please click on the link http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/9780609-lg.jpg

The photos this week are of a very high standard and I look forward to seeing them all later.

ken_rosenbaum1
Here's an old Cadillac at a show of vintage Cadillacs in Toledo. I took out my F100 film camera because I wanted to use the Nikon 18-35mm f3.5-4.5 lens and the D200 changes its inherent focal lengths. A bit of exaggeration is easier with this lens using film and not the FX sensor.

john_demarco
Sorry, little trouble posting this morning. Hello everyone, i see that we are already off to a great start once again! This week i chose something with a little more minimalist point of view while still keeping with my passion for cars. D200, 55-200@80mm, f20, 1/320sec, -0.3EV, iso 400, some tweaking in NX2.
@Joseph L, love it! You really came through with that one. I can smell the inside of the pork store from here, delicious!
@Lil, great grab of the green heron. Some great details in that image.
@ Ian R, super landcape, i like how you got the birds just right in the frame. Looks very relaxing, would love to be there right now.
