camcorder to accept fish eye lens

<p>My Nephew wants a camcorder that is capable of having a fisheye lens attached to film his skateboarding. My question is can you tell me what would be the cheapest camcorder to accept a fisheye. Thank you.</p>

<p>Mark, a common trick among skateboarders is to modify a wide conversion lens into a fisheye by reversing the front element. With this mod., you can use any camcorder with a front thread as opposed to being bound by available (expensive) fisheye lens. For example:<br>

<p>You can also find all kinds of front converter fisheyes on eBay. Again, front threads on the camcorder is the key requirement... Search for 'camcorder fisheye' on eBay, and don't pay more than $40.</p>

<p>thanks Michael and Matthew, I guess what I am asking really then is what is the cheapest camcorder with a front thread. My Nephew as a Canon ZR900 but it doesn't have a front thread.</p>

<p>I haven't seen a camcorder without a front thread. But there used to be all sorts of adaptors, including ones that would slip over the front end of a lens without threads, and then allow a filter or attachment lens to be screwed into the front of the adaptor. Measure the diameter of the front of his lens and search on "series adaptors" at <a href="http://www.bhphotovideo.com">www.bhphotovideo.com</a> or ebay and you should find something. He might not need a fisheye lens as such, but rather just an extremely wide angle lens.</p>
