Wet plate camera plans?

<p>Wet-plate photography is pretty messy stuff -- I would get an old beater, say, in 4x5 and use that for a while...</p>

<p>The early wet plate photographers could be identified by their blackened fingers. This was a result of handling the chemicals needed for the process.</p>

<p>I have seen a number of wet plate cameras and the difference between them and later dry plate models seems to be in the plate holder so you may be able to adapt a dry plate model and fit a wet plate back and plate holder to it.</p>

<p>You could also look up 'waxed paper negative photography'.</p>
