alexacatalin
I just discovered the gigapan technology and I would like to use this for a personal website.
The problem is that using Gigapan I must use gigapan.org to display the images online.

Any ideas about a similar tool that would allow me to add these type of content directly on my personal site?

Thanks!
ellis_vener_photography
There are lots of camera positioning hardware tools ( I use the Really Right stuff gear but I am workign with big heavy cameras and lenses) and software ( Photomerge - built into Photoshop CS4 is good; PTGui (what I use) is better) available for stitching images together. Gigapan just automates the process.
swilson
Check out zommify.com, very much the same thing but you put it on your web page.
chas_matthews
If we're talking about the VR movie aspect of Gigapan, consider using the VR capabilities built into Quicktime.
There's a pretty comprehensive list of software that stiches and VR's a series of photos at
http://www.panoramas.dk/panorama/software.html
