sean_fitzgerald1
Hello. I've recently been recommended to try out PMK Pyro developer for b&w film. I've tried looking on the internet, but... there is not an entirely large amount of information (that I could find) about it. Is there anyone who can tell me anything about it? Im going to be using it to replace d-76. Everything I have read in the internet about it however, is very positive. So anyone, please, and thanks! :)
ed b.
I have a lengthy article on my web site entitled Mixing Developers that speaks briefly about PMK and and its properties. I also give the formula on my formulas page, and developing times for most films. Now that the forums have been moved, you should be able to search the Film & Processing forum for information on PMK, as it has been widely discussed. sergio_ortega6
Sean, You might want to buy Gordon Hutching's own book on the use of his PMK pyro formula. I found it very useful and informative.
scott_killian1
Ditto to the post above. Get "The Book of Pyro" by Gordon Hutchings. It will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about this developer, written by the guy who invented this formula. Go to: http://www.photoformulary.com/ and pick it up. Better yet, you can buy PMK and the book in a bundle from them and save some dough.
