lovcom_photo
On my Canon 5D, it would have to be the 35mm F1.4L. My 2nd choice would be the 50mm F1.2L.

christopher hartt dallas
Canon 24-70 f2.8 on my FF Ds3 for 80% plus of my shots currently. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to make it 100%
GerrySiegel
The one my camera wears 80% of the time. The Olympus ED 14-54mm (28 to 108 field of view) zoom. In my FD days it was the FD 35-105mm F 3.5. I could still live with a 100mm F D 2.8 for a lot of work, but the 50mm was a bit shorter than I wanted to snuggle up close to things. Like people. Actually, I liked the FD 50mm 1.4 for a very long time and it was a great low light no flash indoor lifesaver. Good grief, man, you are a sadist to make us live with one lens. One God yes, but one lens....?
sarah_fox
I don't like hyperzooms, but I guess the Sigma 50-500. At least I'd have a large fl range covered that way! ;-)
matt_needham
I'd boringly pick a 28-75ish f/2.8 for 35mm format. It's not exciting, but by far the most useful lens design I've ever owned.
acbeddoe
Nikon 17-400 f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S VR II; but I'd settle for my 17-55mm f/2.8.
michaeljlawson
If I could only have one right now it would be the Canon 100-400mm IS. I have two lenses now, unfortunately neither one of them is the 100-400mm, but I'd trade them both for this one.

graybrick
I shoot with a twin lens. The thought police would confiscate my whole kit.
john_thorne
Just got my Sigma 10-20 a few months ago but I am sure enjoying it. (D300)
steve_lantz
They can have my lenses when they pry them from my cold dead hands...... If I could have only one lens it would be the one on my Canon G10. Without a lens selection I'm not sure how much use I would have for a DSLR. SCL
Leica 35mm f2.0 Summicron, followed by a Canon FD 50mm f3.5 macro. I know, that's two....I just had to have a backup in case the first one was disallowed :-)

aginbyte
Primarily shoot architecture, would have to go with 24mm Tilt/Shift from Canon.
Brian
A lens on its own doesn't make pictures, so you need a camera too, and since you are only allowed one lens, there is no real point in an interchangeable lens system. So I would pick the Olympus C-7070 27-110mm (equivalent) lens (the one with a camera on the back of it).
berenos
24-105L on my EOS 5D is what I currently use 99% of the time, and for what I use it for it is enough.

matthew_newton
Sigma 28mm f/1.8 for my Olympus OM-1n. Or maybe a Zuiko 50mm f/1.
frank uhlig
It would be the lens in my right eye; it is better than the one in my left eye. What - for crying out loud - would you do with one 50 mm f/1.4 lens if you lost your eyesight? Or had no camera, but still had your eyes?
