alisa_stieg
Dave, Arrested Fall is a great find! They are all wonderful, but I especially like that one! Again, you inspire me! I'll have to find time to get out after the OU/Texas game to take some more pics! (BOOMER SOONER!)
alisa_stieg
And by the way, the b/w version of Osage Orange is great, but I really love the color version! Such a great green and the texture is very cool...I've never seen anything like whatever that IS before! I also like how the green of the thingamabobber brings out some of the green life still left in the brown leaves...very cool!
shots worth sharing
Thanks, Alisa! They ARE really cool thingamabobbers aren't they? I also prefer the color version (I think I got lucky with complimentary tones) but I figured a bw version was worth a try.
guy_gervais
Water-Strider Tracks is great! Best one in the lot, IMHO
alisa_stieg
OK, so now I have to laugh...I Wikipedia'd Osage Orange and leaned that actually IS the name...had to laugh even more when I read "Native to the rich bottom lands of Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma"... Um, HELLO! I live in Oklahoma and haven't seen one of these? Then it occurred to me, maybe these are the things laying around in the fields that I've heard called "Horse Apples"...Now I have to go find one to get a closer look!!! Of course I'll have to tresspass to do so... Just goes to show that we learn more than photography from Pop Hollander here on Photo.net!
kfrog
Well I'm here in south Texas and I can say I've never seen an Osage Orange before. Maybe I need to check around a little closer.
bob_marz
Dave, great outing and great shots. The Osage Orange was best in color. All of the shots are really nice. I probably don't have to tell you, but crayfish, fish love em. Use a woolly bugger next time you flyfish !
jgredline
Great stuff Dave...I have found that many of my best photo opps are right around the corner in the very simple things of life..
revolver
Interesting POV as usual Dave. The Osage Orange reminds me of a mucinex commercial....LOL
shots worth sharing
Dead on, Bob--that's just about all I use in that stream. Thanks for looking Javier & Christopher!
garry_young1
Water strider tracks do it for me too! But good shots all in all Dave. I just have one piece of advice, stay away from things that bottom feed and that eat flies! Fish and such - yuck! Now a good cow, hmmmm, there's food! And it eats grass - gotta love that! ;-))))))
garry_young1
I reckon Bob Marz's fish photos are the right way to experience fish - Bob you can photograph them for me, as far as eating/fishing - I'll stay away.
