zac_sanders
Well i had dropped of two rolls of slide film at ritz camera and went back the next day just to see if they know when they would be back the guy told me 2 to 3 weeks. Is that a normal turn around time? thanks
randall_pukalo
Dont waste your time and money with Ritz, they just send it out and add on a whopping fee for their profit, plus a time delay. Drop slides at Walmart sendout, which uses Fuji Processing, and get them back in a week to week and a half for only $3.88/4.88 for 24/36 exposures. Or, get some Fuji Mailers for $5 each thru BH Photo or Uniquephoto. Delivered to your hous in under 2 weeks.
zac_sanders
I didnt know wallmart would do that. Thats sucks because there is a wallmart in the same shopping center! I know ritz is overpriced because they sell Tmax film for 6 dollars a role.
randall_pukalo
Ya, Fuji will also do medium format slides and print film too, at great prices. 3.88/4.88 for 120/220 slide. $1.80 for 645 negatives developed with 16 3x5 prints!
btmuir
Randall, Where are you getting your 120 done for those prices? Are you going through Walmart? Sorry for the hijack.
walter_degroot
walmart also "does" Kodachrome, via Dwaynes ( if you can find the film anywhere) rumor has it that walmart will send out and process 120 & even regular B&W I don't know. we use them for 35mm c-41 and inexpensive prescriptions. private brand "equal" and a few other things. the online prescription renewal saves Gasoline and waiting at the store. randall ellis
I usually get mine back within a week when I send it to A and I. A couple of days for them to get it, a day to process, and a couple of days to get back to me. If I get it to the post office Monday morning I'll have it back Friday or Saturday. 2-3 weeks is fairly standard for a place that send it out for processing since they will hold the film until they get enough rolls to make it worth the postage before sending, as Ritz does. - Randy
danny_wong2
The actual process is about 35 minutes. The rest of the time is probably in the distribution channel.
stephen sullivan
1st class mail, is usually 2 to 3 days. Development and mount should be that day to a 24 hour turn around. 1st class mail return, is usually 2 to 3 days. With luck, if you mail on a Monday, then you could get it back on Saturday. randall_pukalo
Bruce, yes, thru the Walmart send out envelopes in the store. They use Fuji Labs for their sendout services. Dont bother asking the boneheads in the store, just send it out in the envelopes and it will be back in a week to two for that fantastic price, and fantastic quality. douglas_vitello
Three to four weeks for slide film is about average for Ritz - a big joke. That really means go away unless you are interested in buying a new digital point and shoot.CVS has a week and a half turn around through Kodak.Dodd Photo ( a local chain) still has a four day turn around for E6. hillary_charles
We have an E-6 processor in-house, so turnaround can be very quick if necessary. Prices are not competitive with Walmart, but we've been discussing taking mail-order E-6, and at least waiving return postage fees. For walk-ins, we can do it as quickly as 2 hours! And I'm more than confident running my own film through the processor; QC is very high. http://www.cameracenterofyork.com/mp_includes/body.asp So if you're in the York, PA (USA) area, and have some film to process... :)

hillary_charles
Small world, zac! By February when I'm digging my car out of the snow, I'll be wishing I lived in Arizona, too. :)
kyle_mahaney
I've used Walmart Sendout for 35mm E-6, Kodachrome, B&W, C-41, 120 C-41, 120 E-6. Never had a problem. Great prices and except for the 35mm C-41 pro-level quality. The 35mm C-41 was good, but obviously processed in a roller transport processor, also no "process only" available for C-41 35mm.
