michael_darnton1
The subject line says it all. I know they used to use 8x10, but now, with all the nifty digital stuff available, do they still?
michael_briggs2
At the View Camera Conference in Rockford, Illinois in 2006 June a staff photographer for Playboy spoke. Playboy used 8x10 for their centerfolds until very recently, but has switched to digital. Recently was as of 2006, and I don't remember him giving a specific date for the change. They used to use 8x10 for several reasons, including the ease of retouching. What was at least as iimpressive was how many lights they used: dozens. michael_darnton1
Do you remember what kind of digital? Probably a back on some 4x5?
leicaglow
A lot of pros I know that shoot magazines are using Hasselblad H systems. A little out of my league still.
joseph_braun2
I don't think there's a special Playboy camera. But most magazines use medium format bodies with the crazy expensive digital backs.
