george_sanderson
I am thinking of replacing my 1280/1290 because of its slow printing speed - twenty-four minutes for an A4 colour print at highest quality. Will the 2400 print at a much faster speed? Appreciate any comments.
hjoseph7
Expect about 4-5 minutes for an A4. Even less depending on your settings. However the printer must be already warmed up and running.
bobmichaels
I run both a 2400 and a 890 (narrow carriage 1280). When printing my winter holiday greeting post cards I was using both at the same time. The 2400 was printing a color image on one side while the 890 was printing a low resolution black return address on the other side. I'd print 20 in each printer, then turn the prints over and put them in the other printer. I realized that the 2400 was printing a 4x6 high rez color image at almost exactly the same rate as the 890 was printing just 3 lines of low rez black text. Yes, the 2400 is much faster. But I would suggest lowering the resolution of your 1280 and enabling high speed printing. You very well may not be able to visually tell any difference in the final print. But you sure can tell a difference in speed. I printed for exhibition at less than the highest resolution with my 1280 because I simply could not see any difference.
