cgo
I have been getting a lot of SPAM in the last 30-60, some 50-60 more than usual. I looked closely at all the ones received in the last 2 days and found that they are all coming from my photo.net email address. Anyone else notice this? I have now disconnected my photo.net email address.
joshroot
Coming "from" your photo.net address? Or coming "to" your photo.net address? Big difference there. In either case, this stuff comes in waves. I have had an @photo.net email address for as long as they have been available. I have used it for a million different places that could have sold or given it away. And what is worse, you can still see it in clear type in various places on photo.net from old articles I have written. With all that, gmail does a great job of keeping spam out of my inbox. I only get 10-20 pieces of spam a week.
cgo
Good point. They are are coming to my photo.net address and redirecting to my real address. The interesting is, I have never used or posted my photo.net address.
Michael R Freeman
<i>"I have never used or posted my photo.net address"</i><P> You don't have to post it or use it for spammers to "guess" your address. If it's something like yourname@photo.net or some other simple combination, spammers will try multiple combinations in hopes of hitting a live address. leicaglow
It sounds like your concern is whether someone hacked into the database to get your email address. Right?
