somak_ray
Recently somebody got about a dozen of 120 rollfilms for me on his return journey from USA. To protect the films from airport x-ray, he carried them in the cabin luggage. The security tear opened the films from their air tight package. Given the state of the films, can they be stored in a freezer say at -5 to -10 degree centigrades? Say in a ziplock pouch and with some silicagel to reduce the moisture inside the pouch. expert opinions are solicited best SR

dan_sapper
I suggest that you wrap each roll very well with aluminum foil before placing them in ziplock bag. You can seal the foil by folding over the edges together, rather than just rolling the foil around the roll. Foil is an excellent vapor and moisture barrier, much better than polyethylene bags. When you seal the rolls in foil, you should be in a medium humidity environment (35% RH to 65% RH would be reasonable). Too bad that security ruined the factory seal. Moisture is your enemy. tripanfal
I flew 2 weeks ago. I had about 10 rolls of sealed 120 mixed with a couple dozen 35mm bulk loads. During the hand inspection he ripped open the foil on 2 or 3 rolls of the 120, but did not break the gummed seal. I asked for a hand inspection because all my film was mixed with other rolls which included some fast film. He also ran some tests on the leaders of the 35mm, swabbing them with something. Strange times we live in...
