need a good B+W film lab

Recommended Posts

I'm doing one of my last cheap wedding in two weeks. I don't trust myself with

such an important event, and my local lab has pretty much cut back on alot of

film processing. The last roll of Neopan 1600 took three weeks just to develop.

I have several rolls of Delta 3200 and will order a few Neopan 1600. I want to

shoot and compare the two.

Can anyone reccomend a labs that I will accept my film and do a good job?

Images, Inc in Tuscon - http://www.mylab.com - are pretty much the only people I use for conventional B&W work. I've never shot Delta 3200 or any Neopan, but they do excellent work with everything I've ever sent them. Not the cheapest place around, but the same level of quality as any of the bigger, more well-known labs, with much friendlier people. :)

I remember B&W processing at many labs, unfortunatly all gone.

could you switch to c-41 B&W or even c41 color print which can and is quickly processed all over the place.

If you are a "shooter" and not a " lab man" I can understand

why you don't develop & print your own.

It's a big chore to print a few 36 exp rolls of 35mm film or even 3 or 4 rolls of 120.

I was bailed out when my boss found me bring IN a mysterious black package of cut enlarging paper.

he told me to cut up a box of 8 1/2 x 11 ( not 8x10) and when it was used up, just cut up another. just be careful to run my prints after the day's work was done. and stand in front of the big drier.

doing it at home was a big chore.

Lexington Labs or Kelton Labs in NYC.

I used to worked at Lexington for several years as a fiber printer. You have the choice of a

dip and dunk machine running at 68 deg with x-tol stock or most other developers run by

hand. It is not cheep but the film is always clean.

Lexington has been around for over 40 years with a client list that is too big to list.

I have also had my film done a Kelton labs. The are also a top notch lab but they can take

a long time to get your film done.

Good luck.
