hoshisato
I'm looking for a good address to have Black&White 35mm film developed in London. I tried Jessops but they took 2 weeks and the negatives had lots of calcium deposits on them. Any suggestions? Thanks.
maesphoto
I suggest you buy a changing bag for max 25 Pounds and do the developing yourself. I'm using a Paterson tank and Diafine developer. That's the way I mostly do it. Will
darius_thompson1
For sure, DIY is the way to go. I started some months ago and wish I hadn't spent the last 3 years chucking money away by taking my films to the lab. Well I am in Switzerland, but in my London days I got negs done in all sorts of places, and though i never had deep cause for complaint, just strangely tinted emulsion and so on, from careless developing, I never got down to finding out the true speed of my films, and tuning everything up to get nice well exposed results. Get your bathroom lightproof, buy tanks and reels and a thermometer, some dev, stop and fix, and wetting agent, and you're off. Very simple. what do you d with your negs? Print or scan, or send them away too? Best of luck!
david_henderson
Try Bayeux, 78 Newman Street, just north of Oxford Street. 020 7436 1066. Their turnround is usually next day if you want contacts as well.
jrh
By far the best imaging lab in London is Metro Imaging. They can push pull, contract or expand and they will also develop and print by hand. They are not cheap but I've never had result from a lab like I have gotten from Metro. They have two branches that I am aware of, one in Soho and one in Clerkenwell. They do mostly pro work, but they do things as mundane as develop and print. Here's the website: http://www.metroimaging.co.uk/
kparratt
Log onto Silverprint at: http://www.silverprint.co.uk/ after a few seconds "Silverprint News April 07" will appear on the homepage. Item: 3 Downtown Darkroom. On that page you also find a PDF link to prices. They offer very well managed service, run by dedicated experts. Cheers, Kevin.
