Where to develop B&W film in London?

Recommended Posts

For sure, DIY is the way to go. I started some months ago and wish I hadn't spent the last

3 years chucking money away by taking my films to the lab. Well I am in Switzerland, but

in my London days I got negs done in all sorts of places, and though i never had deep

cause for complaint, just strangely tinted emulsion and so on, from careless developing, I

never got down to finding out the true speed of my films, and tuning everything up to get

nice well exposed results.

Get your bathroom lightproof, buy tanks and reels and a thermometer, some dev, stop and

fix, and wetting agent, and you're off. Very simple. what do you d with your negs? Print

or scan, or send them away too?

Best of luck!

By far the best imaging lab in London is Metro Imaging. They can push pull, contract or expand and they will also develop and print by hand. They are not cheap but I've never had result from a lab like I have gotten from Metro. They have two branches that I am aware of, one in Soho and one in Clerkenwell. They do mostly pro work, but they do things as mundane as develop and print.

Here's the website: http://www.metroimaging.co.uk/
