jayhai
Does any know where I can find the ratio of 5d users, to 1.6 crop or 1.3 crop users?

savas_kyprianides
I have a 5D. Maybe call Canon for the stats.
will king
Got both the 20D and 5D and like them both for different reasons.

lucafoto
Try Flickr http://www.flickr.com/cameras/canon/ Not exactly the data set you were looking for, but interesting non the less.

phule
I question the value of such a question. To anyone but the accounting department of Canon the answer is completely meaningless.
pjmeade
5D and 20D for me. If the PN population is similar to the Flickr population, then this may help http://www.flickr.com/cameras/canon/ According to this page http://www.flickr.com/cameras/ The most popular camera in use is the 350D, with the D50, 20D and D70 following. The 400D seems to be catching up fast.
catchlight
I, too, don't see the value in that information. Each photographer's photographic goals, pre-existing investment in lenses, and personal budget are what should drive camera purchases, not the popularity of one type of sensor over another. eddie g
in the third chapter of my statistics book from college it states that "unpure" data is for the most part useless in measuring percentages....this problem is further exacerbated by a non-random sample having less than 40 samples. What you'll get in this thread is basically information that will not lead to an accurate result in a percentage calculation. in other words, you'd probably want to contact Canon who will probably appologize for not being able to provide you with that percentage number. chuck_c_charlottenc_
I don't know Rob... this information could be "Very" important to the psyche of the "conformist" and "nonconformist". There are people who want to be "In" with the crowd and those who can't stand having something "everyone else" has. We need to care.
john_r._fulton_jr.
Let's see. My brother has a 5D. I have two 20Ds and a 1DmkII. But we're only two users. I'm confused about this survey. Anyway, good luck. :->)

jayhai
I want to know this stat because i am writing a paper on how i believe canon markets with the intention to frustrate non full frame users into purchasing more products. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this stat anywhere, but i guess not.
KenPapai
How would (or could?) you write a "paper" about how Nikon couldn't care less about the FF sensor market then too?
jayhai
thank you luca photo, that flikr poll will probably do just fine.
jayhai
I don't think its they don't care, but i bet they are loving it that canon is keeping the dslr race static, by not evolving everything to full frame.
