martin_alston
I have this shot of my wife and little one that I really like. the only thing that really bothers me is the shadow under my wife's right eye from her hair. How can I soften or get rid of this? Do your work and tell me what you did if you will. Thanks.<div></div>

ellis_vener_photography
Is this your photo or was it created by someone else? In the large version there is a lot of really nasty jpeg compression.
martin_alston
It's mine. The large one wasn't meant to be so large. It's only 72 ppi for web. It's going to look bad at that size.
will king
Use the healing brush or clone tool.
Tim_Lookingbill
I'ld reshoot it. It seems such a simple shot to get the lights in place and everybody repositioned. The closeness and the strong directional light would make removal of shadows in such a tight area seem unnatural and doctored. You'ld have to remove the hair as well because the eye would notice there's no shadow for it.
don_e
I agree with Tim. It is a major feature and a point of focus of the photograph, not something off to the side that merely may distract the eye and can be cloned out. Reshoot.
JeffOwen
I have got rid of the shadow by use of the clone tool but am not sure if it looks right.<div></div>
Tim_Lookingbill
Jeff did a very convincing job. I'm sold. It's a little flat but it blends well enough where it doesn't stand out. Good job, Jeff.
