I processed a roll of Ilford 100 Delta today using LP Supergrain, a

developer I am not at all familiar with. It is said to give sharp

crisp negatives with a development time of 5 minutes being suitable

for most films. The recommended time on the box which contains two

250ml bottles of the stuff suggested 5.5 minutes for 100 Delta at

20C/68F. I used 5 minutes as a starting point using the recommended

1:7 dilution and the negatives appear to be very vigorous and dense

compared to my usual developer.(Good shadows but dense high values)

Does anyone have any experience with this particular developer?

I haven`t printed any of the negatives yet.

Personally I should choose another developer for Delta 100/400 (e.g. SPUR HRX-2 or SPUR SLD) than this LP Supergrain/AM74.

It's working perfectly for e.g APX100/Rollei R3/Rollei PAN25 but much less for Delta films and unless you want (indeed SUPER grain), TriX and HP5+.

Here is some recommendation: http://www.amaloco.nl/pdf/overzicht.pdf

For further questions about this interesting developer (made in Holland), please do not hesitate to contact me.

About the AM74/(RHS/LP Supergrain) combinations with Foma: see our NL-website --> Assortiment --> Foma Films --> *ONTWIKKELTIJDEN* (near the English Foma PDF Catalogue download!)

best E.I. for Fomapan 400 is then around iso 320.

The same developer (AM74) in combination with APX400/Rollei Retro 400: 1+7, E.I. 400, 6,0 Min. 20 degrees C. 120 rolfilm agitation 1 Minute continuous, then every 15 S. 1X. Also a good combination, advisable.

By the way, are you living in the Czech Republic? Next week I have a visit to Prague, so maybe we can meet somewhere.

best regards, na shledanou,
