drachir
I have several boxes of older GePe A/N 66 frames and many of the individual glasses have taken on a milky appearance. They have never been used! I have tried gentle cleaning with weak detergent solution but it has no effect. Is there anything I can do? The appearance is similar to that which affects quality crystal glass if it is mistakenly put in a dishwasher.
dickhilker
I'd try a 91% isopropyl alcohol solution (from the drugstore) on lens tissue.
larrydressler
If the Isopropal does not work try Ethanol .. A.K.A. Ever clear from a liquor store. If that does not work try Acitone. If not try to find new glass. Larry
timsumma
Richard, you note that these are GePe A/N glass slide mounts. Are you aware that the designation A/N is for anti-Newtonring? The surface appearance of the one side is that the glass has been surfaced to prevent Newton Rings from forming on the films front side surface? The other side is dusted with a material that is to prevent seizure of the glass surfaces. I have found that a brisk rub with a soft cloth removes this dusting.
