stacy
I had an email today from somebody who asked me who I would hire to shoot my own wedding (assuming Mary was invited and not shooting). I really had to think! So just for fun- if budget was not an issue and you had your choice of anyone- who would it be?
colleendonovan
Susan Stripling or Amy Nave. Or David Beckstead - he's awesome! Then of course you are always an option Stacy!!! :)
kieraine_design
I would hire Artistic Creations....they are very personable and all of their shooters are very talented. http://www.artisticcreations.ca/ Kieraine
jmichaelc
I got married last year Stacy, and i hired Eric Mccarty: www.thelightphotography.com One of the very best in the buis as far as i'm concerned.
KenPapai
I would hire someone based on what camera system they use and if they are willing to provide me all of the (good) original RAW images that went into their leather-bound, 72-page storybook album. If I have heard of him or her here on photo.net then all the better. I could easily tick off 6-7 names that could do it.<p> What *did* I end up doing? On the cheap! Loaned my camera to my friend who shot us. Nothing artful or awesome was obtained but I knew that anyway. ;) Cool thread Stacy.
lb-
I'd hire you.
david_schilling___chicago_
Easy....Parker Pfister, Bambi Catrell, Joe Bussink, Michelle Calitano, or Jeff/Julia Woods. Do I have to pick just one?
think27
Nancy Cohn, Marc Williams and Amy Deputy
ben_rubinstein___mancheste
Marc. Talent, artistic vision and a real love and interest in what he does which isn't tied down to the money. No doubt there are others in the world who subscribe to those requirements but I know Marc's work!
brooks short
Sadly, Diane Arbus is no longer with us so it would have to be Les Krims. www.leskrims.com
glenn_owens1
Jeff Ascough would be my first choice.
erik_escada1
DAVID ROSENBERGER hes a Photogrpahy Teacher at Yorba Linda, CA adult school and Or Bambi Cantrell yet she something scares me on certain issues that she still does not get. michaelkh
Stacy, I'm not sure I'd ever get married and I don't think you work in the UK, but I'd hire you. And I promise to find a venue with no paintings framed behind glass. Or cheerleaders. Kidding. How did that work out though?
stacy
Wow- I'm flattered you guys :) Just send me an airline ticket and keep me away from reflective surfaces and I'll do my very best! I'd picked Bill Mccullough or Marc Williams because they are both very good at catching funny/quirky/interesting moments :)
al_kaplan1
I'd be more than thrilled to have Marc Williams do the shooting. I shot one wedding with him and the man is solid talent! Which one of you ladies wants to marry me? I need to find some woman who wants to get married before I can email Marc ;-) You'll also have to put up with a toy monkey as best man. http://thepriceofsilver.blogspot.com/
lb-
"Sadly, Diane Arbus is no longer with us" if we're in fantasy land I'd hire Cindy Sherman. She could dress herself up as the bride and groom and do the whole thing on her own time :)
Jochen_S
Sam Liu. - The picture he once posted of a German couple's reception at a hotdog stand showed a wedding entirely of my taste. - Unluckily brides agreeing to such minimalism seem too hard to find. stacy
oooh- Ya if we're in fantasy land maybe I would choose Guy Bourdin- photos of wedding legs and the bride being killed with framed paintings... polaroids. That would be intersting wedding photography :) I'm sorry I missed the reception at a hot dog stand
eric merrill
http://www.jeffascough.net In fact, I'd be tempted to contact him first and choose my wedding date based on his availability. Eric
j dery
Lots of favorites...Amy Deputy, Matt Mendelsohn, Susan Stripling, Willi Wong, Joel Silverman, John and Joseph Photography. fotografz
Okay, Gary Fong. But he'd have to do it for free just for the endorsements ... Oh, wait, I'm not rich and famous, so I guess I'd have to pay. In that case, Gary's out cause I'd rather buy a new Bentley Turbo with his fee ... and shoot my wedding myself. Hey, it could be done. Set up remote cameras and hose off the shots with the remote in my pocket. No, wait, that might look odd ... me with my hand in my pocket ... people might get the wrong idea. Okay, let's rethink this ... hmm ... can I get back to you on this?
