Jobo 4x5 tank for medium format development

I will be traveling soon, and plan to develop my own bw film (4x5 and

120 roll) Needless to say I want to minimize luggage bulk. I have a

Jobo tank for 4x5 development with 2 reels, and a patterson tank with

reels for 120 film development. So, my question is, can I use the 120

Patterson reels inside the Jobo, so I can use that for developing

both types of film rather than take both types of tanks? I am pretty

sure the reels fit on the Jobo tank spindle.

I have a JOBO 2521 for 4X5 sheets (up to 6 at a time). I just tried a Paterson reel in the JOBO tank with the JOBO reel. The Paterson reel fits on the JOBO a tad looser than on the Paterson spindle.

I use the JOBO tank horizontally so that the amount of chemicals is limited. My guess is that this would not work as well with a Paterson reel on a JOBO spindle. If you are going to use the JOBO tank in the vertical mode, it will probably take a good deal of chemicals to cover the film.

You best give it a test ride before the trip.

My Jobo tanks fits two reels of 4x5, or three Paterson reels set to 120 film size. Indeed, the Patersons fit loosely around the Jobo spindle, but they appear to otherwise appear to be OK. I think the tank will require more chemicals than a normal Paterson but not by much. I guess I'll spend the weekend developing to be sure.
