middle
Hi there
One of the answers here led me to a link: http://christianharkness.tripod.com/digitalnegative.html
I couldn't figure out what exactly is this concept. Can somebody elaborate on digital negs?
Actually I not in mood of buying the book just like that ;)
Thanks
Middle
s._fisher
My guess is the computer makes a digital negative on transparency paper then you make contact prints in the darkroom with that. I see a lot of references to that book but noone gives much detail on what the process actually involves.
joe_lipka3
The reason no one talks about the digial negative much is because it is a great conspiracy to make you buy Dan's book 8)
With flagrant disregard for the vow of secrecy taken by digital negative makers, here's the process. Get image into computer. Manipulate in photoshop. Output photoshop file either by printing on film base with photo printer, or sending to an image setter to let them create a litho film negative.
It works well. For details, by the book. james___
I bought the book and we are making digitally enlarged negs now. It is well worth the money, and the time invested to learn which is really rather easy. We are using the process to make digitally enlarged negs to contact print for alternative processes. Finally a real use for a computer. James
