bruce_karnopp1
Both Paterson and Jobo tanks are safe. I have used the Paterson tanks for HIE in 120, and the Jobo tanks for 4X5 Maco IR films.
richam
I've had trouble loading 35mm HIE onto the Jobo or Paterson plastic reels (never tried 120, but it's probably ok). It seems HIE is thicker and/or stickier, and doesn't want to slide in the slots after it's about half loaded. Someone may know a plastic solution, but I solved it with stainless tanks and reels that load from the center. The problem is even worse if you use Maco 820c IR film that has an anti-halation backing.
chris_waller
It is impervious to IR. I use a Paterson tank for IR processing and have done for mnany years. Just remember that the film must be handled in complete darkness at all times.
keith_tapscott
Marko, the Paterson tanks are absolutely fine for I.R. films so no problems for you to worry about, just use your tank as you would for your regular films.
