m_.
did a search but can't find much information on this brand films. i am currently using fuji for all 100, 400 and 1600. fuji acros is great but the cost has become an issue. fuji ss is fine but nothing special. would be interested in finding a 100 and 400 film that is cheaper but equally perform with the fuji. consistency on the film quality is essential at the moment - can't afford a sudden failure even one out of a hundred. it appears that arista.edu on 35mm format is fine but i have heard some quality control issues of this film. anyone has firm information on arista.edu or ultra or arista ii films? on a differnt note, i started back to kodak d76 developer in comparison to hc- 110 recently and i like it a little better. i did some experiment on both a long time ago and chose hc-110 over d-76. but that was before i knew anything. can't put my finger on yet so you are welcome to comment on that as well. thanks. lowell_huff1
Freestyle recommends their ARISTA PREMIUM FILM DEVELOPER as well as ODORLESS FIX and ODORLESS STOP BATH with their films and papers.
elroy_yee
Arista.edu = Fortepan Arista.edu Ultra = Fomapan Arista II = Agfa Arista D-max Pro = Ilford Delta Pro.
larrydressler
I really like the Arista EDU Ultra both 120 and 35mm in both D-76 and HC-110 the 400 gives you nice negatives at 1000 in Diafine. the Forte stuff the non Ultra curls like a pigs tail. this is also the same film as J&C classic. You may want to try Adox/Efke films also. I don't know what format you are shooting but if you are using 35mm get a bulk loader and some long rolls it is real cheap. Freestyle has out dated but good long rolls of PanF+ labeled as Arista 50 for about $12.00 per 100 feet. Larry
mitchell_kirschner
Larry, I've done one roll so far of the Ultra 400. Souped in HC110-B per box time. My first impression (not a test by any means): the results seemed mushy compared to one of the big-name 400-speed films (Tri-X, etc). Has your experience been similar? PS - I like the Ultra 400 in 120 format...except for that darn curl.
mitchell_kirschner
PS - I meant to specify Ultra 400 in 35mm for my "mushy" comment.
larrydressler
No not mushy at all infact though come to think of it I never souped the 400 in HC-110. I love it in D-76 and Rodinal. 1-50 Larry

heriberto_contreras
i have had developed some arista edu 100 iso and it is almost as fine as the kodak tmax 100, developing with agfa rodinal 1-50, just add 1/3 more time when developing your film, I think it is a really good film eventhought is really cheap.
