manitas
What would happen if one could only see the author of a photo after having rated it?
pmj
I think we'd see more people include their name in the photo so it can't easily be displayed uncredited.
manitas
Patrick, The credit would be there for anyone who rated it to see. I'm just trying to think of ways to reduce ill intentioned ratings. Just a thought...:)
pmj
I understand the purpose and I welcome initiatives that encourage honest ratings. But I do wonder if it's going to work. Some people might object to having their work displayed uncredited (even if only for the purpose of rating, and even then only until rated). But more importantly in this respect: some people might include some form of identifcation so that their friends will recognize their pictures and rate accordingly. keith turrill
I agree with David Atherton, that withholding the name from the "Rate Recent Que" would help reduce malicious activity. However, right now I have a popular image making the rounds on blogs in the Pacific Rim. For that reason, I always embed my name and copyright mark as a necessary evil. emwalker
how about only showing the top half of the shot until it's rated? like a surprise, a suspenseful one-liner? then you could really test your judgement to see if you're giving valid rates or not... cappoldt
All been suggested before, and sadly, not implemented - likely for well-thought-through reasons, troubleshot as Patrick suggests/does...not that watermarks on all images are a bad thing these days. Meanwhile, for my solution, I'm going back into the lab to create an anti-ass**** pill to drop in the planet's water supply...wish me luck!
