willio Posted June 2, 2004 Share Posted June 2, 2004 All, Did somebody have multiple account problems in photo.net before? I was registered back in Feb 1998, and was inactive since around 2000. Having a comeback recently, i realized that one has multiple accounts. I wonder how you dealt with it, and how can I consolidate my 4 accounts + forum posts, history, etc into one convenient place as the FAQ page suggested? I've sent emails to webmaster-at-photo.net, and feedback@.... but still no luck in consolidating those accounts. I appreciate the help. BW Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bobatkins Posted June 2, 2004 Share Posted June 2, 2004 Accounts can be consolidated, but it's a bit of a pain in the @ss to do. It has to be done by a site administrator. Since we allow an infinite number of people to register with the same user name, one problem is making sure all the accounts under one name actually belong to the same person. Also, sometimes one person registers under a bunch of names and a bunch of different email adresses and we've no way of knowing which belong to one "real" person. The other problem is that if an administrator screws up (very rare, or course....) they might all get consolidated into a different account than the one you actually wanted as your main account. willio Posted June 8, 2004 Author Share Posted June 8, 2004 Bob, I understand about the possibility of those "screwups", that's why I recently logged in to all those accounts and updated the profiles to ensure that those are MY accounts.
