casey mcallister
I have searched all over the place to find a place to buy 13 x 19 pre matted frames and cannot find any. Do you know where I can find some?
p._neil_ralley
I have doubts whether you will find ready-made and pre-matted frames of that size. You might possibly find 12" x 18" but, personally, I have found those to be hard to find also. If, like me, you prefer to have someone else do the mat-cutting then I can recommend http://www.matcutter.com - they are reasonably-priced and reliable. For frames there are various places online but you might do just as well buying from a retail outlet such as Michael's, A.C. Moore or Jerry's artist's outlet. For odd or unusual sizes the modular metal frame sets are quite good - you just buy one set of length pieces and one of width pieces of the appropriate size. I have a feeling that Bainbridge might also do something similar in wood. FWIW I usually opt to print 14" x 11" because it makes framing so much easier with precut mats readily available and lots of options for 20" x 16" frames. chris_ladoulis
William, I just found a thread from Nov 03 that covers the same question, with a couple sources for finding the mats/frames. here's the forum link. jason__california_
Another great place to check would be www.redimat.com they offer an 18 x 24 mat with a 13 x 19 opening. The prices are very reasonable.
mark_rogers
As the owner, I am biased but as a photographer printing 13x19 prints many years ago I decided to found Frame Destination, Inc. just for this reason. 13x19 as well as other 3/2 aspect ratio sizes such 12x18, 16x24, and 8x12 are all standard sizes.
