  1. Did anyone took classes at Stratford Career Institute? Is it worth the money? I was thinking about enrolling in Photography Course they offer, but I'm not sure if I should do that
  2. Mariusz,
I have never heard of Stratford Career Institute, so I looked into it a bit. It is not accredited and doesn't give degrees, but that may not be important to you. I have found mixed reviews which is common for any school. Perhaps you can find the name and web address of someone who took a photography class through them to get better input. There are many correspondence photography courses taught by many schools. I would look very carefully before deciding on which one to choose, it any.
There may be local classes or photo clubs that would be cheaper (or free) and just as worthwhile for you. Check into all possibilities. Maybe just putting more of your own time into your photography, with some help and suggestions from people in would be a good place to start. It all depends on what you are trying to do in photography.
    Good luck.
  3. Srafford - They mostly advertise for their Culinary Class around here, never knew they started teaching photography, but maybe you can mix both and become a food photographer.
  4. I see that this is an old post but still wanted to add my input. I am currently taking this course, they do give a diploma at completion but they are not accredited. However, for the price, and since most photographers are small business owners working for themselves, I feel it is worth the money. It will teach you some things and give you a nice looking "diploma" to hang on your studio wall so that your clients can see you're not just anyone with a camera but you have actually studied to be a photographer. Just because a school is not accredited, does not mean the school or the diploma you receive is fake: It is as real as any other but accreditation does affect who will accept it. Unless they are interested in becoming a photographer, not many clients will even question whether or not your Stratford diploma is accredited. It may also work for some jobs such as a local newspapers photographer or for daycare/preschool photos and such---just be sure and submit a nice portfolio with your resume. Another similar online school is NYIP but they are about $400.00 more expensive.
