Hello Nikon folks, and a good Wednesday to everyone. A mixed hardware adventure, this week. Was helping a documentary film maker with some material she'll be cutting into a body of mostly-on-the-street interview/event type work. We shot yesterday with five different cameras and a bag of lenses in various configurations. Here's a couple of frame grabs from rough segment edits done while reviewing the shoot. The first involved flying a D3200 under a drone. Stuck with a lightweight 18-55 kit since it balances on the gimbal fairly well and doesn't weigh much. Flew that rig up about 60 feet for the establishing shots she needed. What have you been shooting? Share!
  2. And a few minutes later, a Nikon 16-35/4 through a Metabones adapter on a Sony FS700 video camera, shooting in a shoulder-mounted rig.
  3. Spotted this train while driving home - ended up chasing it a bit and took shots at three different locations. As it often happens, I like the very first shot best. D7100 with 18-140 at 38mm, f/5.6, 1/640s, ISO100.

  6. A horse was nicely posed in the door of his barn, and I thought to get a nice, if a little trite, picture of the horse peeking out the door, but they are awfully friendly critters.
  7. And finally, the Korean lilacs are blooming and all sorts of things fly in for a taste. Here's a hummingbird moth.

  14. Sometimes I question the wisdom of lugging around a large prime with me. On this trip especially I've found myself reaching for the camera phone before the big camera. But last week I got a chance to check out a concert in Kōenji and of course I had to drag the D600 and Sigma 35 along.

Cannon Beach in Oregon is a well known destination. I have been there once way back in 2001. I must have used my F5 (or F100) with Velvia film. The lens was probably the 24mm/f2.8 AF-D.
