  6. Shot this one a few minutes ago. I help out the overwintering Anna's hummingbirds by making sure there's always a fresh feeder available, especially when it drops below freezing, like last night. For the next few days I'll be busy swapping thawed feeders for frozen ones so the little guys can fuel up.

    Took this through my kitchen window with the porch lights on for illumination. you can almost see it shivering in the bitter cold (-10 deg F or so)

  9. Our Wisconsin DNR was looking for pictures of a bird with "ice spectacles" to post during our recent -30 (-55 WC) weather.
