oliviabennett
I recently bought a new Prima 5 film camera and went to load my film in and forgot there were no batteries in it yet, so I think I may have pulled the start of the film out a little too far trying to get it to load. Once I had put the batteries in it still took a while for the film to properly load, so I opened the back a couple of times to re adjust the film. Did my roll get ruined from pulling it out a little too far and opening the case multiple times before it had loaded?
John Seaman
As long as you haven't pulled out more than a few inches of the film, it should be fine, the film remaining in the cassette won't be affected. You might just have lost a frame or two at the very start.
ed_farmer
Just go ahead and shoot with it. The first frames will process to be fully black but everything that remained in the canister before the last time that you closed the back should be fine. glen_h
Some motor winding cameras will automatically wind off two or three frames at the beginning. If yours does, it will wind off two from whenever you last closed the back, which should be fine. -- glen
