Film Camera Week for May 27

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with some shots from film I processed and scanned yesterday. Camera was Minolta XE-5 with Minolta MD 35-135 f 3.5-4.5. Film was Ilford HP5+ processed in HC110 dilution H.

Court Street (in West Point)

I've used this lens quite often since I bought it new in the early 80's, Here are a few older images.

leaves up close, also XE-5. Unlike the Tokina lens Rick shared images from, the Minolta has a separate close focus ring that allows close focus down to 1:4. It engages at the 135mm setting so it offers a convenient working distance.

I plan to take advantage of the close focus on the 35-135 for my next roll and also take some shots with the MD 28-85.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's images.

First time doing C41 color processing at home. This roll is a very expired Kodak Royal Gold 25 (one of my favorite emulsions), shot on a Nikon FM2n and 50/1.2 AiS lens. Around Baylands Park in Palo Alto, on a sunny day.

I am awaiting shoulder replacement surgery (2 weeks) and am becoming more limited in movement so I will be less active for the next few months. I will pop in and give a few likes though. This was taken in the backyard yesterday using the Toyo 45 field loaded with Tmax 100 and developed in HC110. When the film finished fixing I noticed it was rather under developed. Seems the aperture tab was bumped from F22 to F45 thus exposing ISO 400 equivalent. The big negative recovered in PS better than I thought it would.

Good luck on your surgery. I hope you can do some 35mm while you recover. Nice 4X5 image.

Actually James I am thinking the Minolta Autocord with a neck strap might do the trick. With the waist level viewfinder I won’t have to raise it up to my eye.

The great city of San Francisco, although in a bit of decline due to pandemic as well as politics, is still a magical place. I was strolling around in Union Square one day before a meeting, and still love it. There are many shops closed, and lots of renovations. But people are starting to come back, even some tourists. And finally you don't have to queue for an hour before taking the famed cable car from Powell Station!

This is one of the two rolls from my first try of Cinestill C41 home processing. The negative came out in dark dark espresso color, and can hardly see any images on it. I'm quite amazed that the Epson V700 produced some quite usable scans out of the "film Noire". :-) Camera: Olympus 35 SP with quite competent Zuiko 42mm f/1.7.
