stevej1265
Hi all Made a bit of a boob when mixing chemicals and I now have 1.1L of D76 instead of 1L. Planning on using it as stock. Should I chuck it, add a little bit to the developing time, or not worry? Thanks!
SCL
Don't worry
Alan Marcus
Use it as if you had mixed it correctly. The closest correct time in a developer still results in + - 1/3 f-stop. The mix error of 1000ml vs. 1100 is of no consequence.
ed_farmer
Pour it all down the drain . . . After, of course, you process film with it . . . :)

ben_hutcherson
As said, I wouldn't lose a bit of sleep over it. Your D76 is probably still more "potent" than the bottle I'm working out of now that was mixed 3 months ago. I don't adjust the developing times, and there's no perceptible difference in my negatives. In the US, we normally get 1 gallon(~3.8L) packets. My usual mixing method is to take a 1 gallon brown Datatainer bottle, add hot water, shake, add more water, shake, etc until the container is basically full to the brim(and the let it sit overnight). I haven't MEASURED it, but in my "day job" I deal both with 1 gallon and 4L containers regularly. To my eye, a "1 gallon" Datatainer is closer in size to a 4L bottle than a 1 gallon bottle, so I'm sure I'm getting it more dilute than specified. It's not caused me any problems in 10+ years, and considering that it was how I was shown to mix D76 I'm sure I'm not the only one out there doing it that way. glen_h
You could increase the time just a bit to be sure. Also, if you don't use replenisher, you should increase the time for subsequent rolls, which I suspect many (including me when I used it many years ago) don't do. -- glen
