Printing cheap posters

Recommended Posts

i am looking to print cheap posters like you would hang in your room when you were growing up. I want them on the thin magazine letter paper. The thinner the better. Actually bible paper is my ultimate goal. Prob going to go through hell trying to find a place to print on that. However any ideas for either magazine inside pages not cover paper or even thinner.

I am trying to print at least 28 X 32.

Here are generic examples of what I want.

Projection Hatsune Miku Poster - Spencer's

Big posters under 10$

Where is this done.

Find a print shop that does magazines and hire them to do your posters. Any half decent fully sized 4c offset press should be able to do the job (in theory). You should buy at least 2000 copies per subject. Handling 60g/sqm stock isn't that hard for a sheet fed. - I'm not sure about 40g/sqm.

Be nice when you negotiate and try to investigate what the shop you are talking to specialized on. Somebody usually producing cardboard boxes and 170g/sqm flyers will be severely challenged to handle thin paper, even 90g/sqm is already an entirely different beast and far from popular where I am working.

If business structures are similar worldwide, just hit the next best print shop and they should be able to tell you where to go. I'm not sure about posters, but in doubt it is cheaper to have them made in Asia's modest wage countries and shipped. China bought a lot of Heidelberg presses.

I know nothing about web printing and formats used there. - Maybe it makes sense when you see a chance to market 30K+x copies.

Good luck!

The only way you will get prints that big below $10 is to purchase them by the thousands, where they are printed by offset printing presses.

Short run poster printing is done with laser or ink jet printers and costs more per poster, but you don't have to print thousands.

A 24" X 36" poster will cost you ~$23 each, printed here Short Run Posters | Large Format | NextDayFlyers. This is a good company offering quality printing of short run posters, post cards, brochures etc. I have used them many times.
