Canon Thursday Photo 2011: #14

<p>Shot with a Chicago-made camera - the Perfex Forty four.</p><div></div>

<p>The third year for this female in the same nest. No evidence of chicks, and I didn't see any males around today.<br>

Canon 5DMKII, 100-400 L-series; 1/250; 640iso; F5.7 400mm focal length.<br>

This image is about 50 crop as the nest is across a stream. </p><div></div>

<p><a href="../photodb/user?user_id=482130">Rob Bernhard</a>: I wonder if you were at the Cabrini Green site as I was driving past on the way home from Calumet Photo last week. There were several people taking photos.<br>

My orange bell pepper was shot with the Canon 50mm macro lens @ F/11. I never have enough patience for this type of shot; probably because I usually do them while getting dinner ready.</p>

<p>As with last week's shot, I took this off of Hwy 395 a couple of weeks ago. </p>

<p>Ceramic vase made by my grandson. He had to submit photos to his prospective college to have a chance at a scholarship. Taken with 2ti program mode and windowlight illumination.</p><div></div>

<p>I took very few photos this past week. We have had unusually sunny skies though. Here's a shot of clouds at sunset a couple of days ago.</p><div></div>

My submission this week is a photograph of my friends daughter. This was taken last Saturday when we got together to watch India win the World Cup Cricket Final. Needless to say I missed a bit of the game as I was busy with my camera. It always amazes me how much easier it is to take good pictures of my friends kids than my own.</p>

<p>Away last week to invite this little guy into our ever expanding family. Wasn't the best photo (and I have no experience shooting babies) but my sister-in-law liked it so I guess that's all that matters.<br /> 40D, 17-50 2.5 and other settings I forgot to write down.</p><div></div>

<p>@ karen wiltshire ~ You say your 17-55 isn't as sharp as you 50 1.4? That's odd because I have both lenses too and I find the reverse to be true... I don't know why... maybe it's just slight differences in the particular lenses we have.</p>
