Posting Images on PN issues

some of the pictures i post look amazingly bad until one views it 'Larger' -

why is this? obviously PN compresses the pictures for the standard view but i

still don't quite understand? this is an example - not the best picture in the

world but a good example of what i mean... please let me know what you think

and how i am to avoid this when posting in future... many thanks, Ewan.

Doesn't look bad enough to change the likely rating. The compression has resulted in a little more compression artifact noise in the uniform blue sky.

There's nothing you can do to avoid this.

There's more noise in the compressed version though probably not enough to affect rating.<p>

PN compresses images only over <i>x</i> number of pixels wide - the answer is somewhere, I think it might be 630 pixels.
